Today we will talk about the construction method of non-woven geotextiles in road engineering.
1. Geotextiles should be laid mechanically or manually. When laying, attention should be paid to the rough side facing up. Then fix one end with a fixator, tighten it mechanically or manpower. And laying it flat and close to the road surface.
2. The transverse lapping of geotextiles is about 4-5 cm. According to the paving direction, the rear end is pressed under the front end and cemented with hot asphalt or emulsified asphalt. Then fix the longitudinal overlap with fixator, which is also about 4-5 cm. It can be directly cured with bonding oil.
If the overlap is too wide, the interlayer at the overlap will become thicker. In this way, the bonding force between the surface layer and the base layer will be weakened, which will easily lead to adverse effects such as bulging, detachment and displacement of the surface layer. Therefore, the overlapping parts should be cut off.
